GDC Vijaypur hosts special lecture on "Fundamental Rights and Duties"

SAMBA: As a part of the series of events being organized under the banner of "Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman" and to mark the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a special lecture on "Fundamental Rights and Duties" was organized by NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur.
Prof. Sonia Devi briefed the students about fundamental rights and duties guaranteed to all the citizens of India. She stated that fundamental rights are enforced by the courts, subject to certain conditions. "These rights guarantee social justice. Article 12 to 35 in part III of the Indian Constitution deals with fundamental rights; while Article 51 A enshrined in part IV A of the constitution deals with fundamental duties" she informed the students.
Principal of the College, Dr. (Prof.) Ashu Vashisht advised the students to have a clear understanding of their rights and duties as a citizen of India. She further said that fundamental duties are moral obligations of all citizens to help promote a spirit of patriotism and uphold India's unity.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Arti Sharma (HOD Environmental Science), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English and NSS PO) and Dr. Nain Singh.
